  = Base Tax + (Rate x Amount Over)
  = $2,447.00 + [.396 x ($30,000 - $8,650)]
  = $2,447.00 + (.396 x $21,350) 
  = $2,447.00 + $8,454.60 
  = $10,901.60 

 

 

Example #2

The estate of Mary Doe, over the 2000 tax year, generates TAXABLE INCOME of $5,000. The Doe estate's income falls between:

  = Base Tax + (Rate x Amount Over)
